November 2025 PRESIDENT’S REPORT

With November behind us, winter season with colder and chilly days will arrive very soon. This year up to late November can be considered as one of the most pleasant falls we have not had for a long time. Upcoming days can be colder, windy, snowy cloudy day, but it can also be a very nice, beautiful calm sunny day, with the warm sun. we will make the best of it.

This last November continues to be a busy month for all our event volunteers and committee leaders, fully engaged and occupied for our cooking class, Flu shot day, mahjong class, pickleball, table tennis, Taichi class, and Dragon/Lion Dance class. Our seniors Program with a variety of classes continue to see the substantial pickup on attendants. It is exciting to observe the increased foot traffics over Saturday, Sunday and even during weekdays with various basketball bookings, and table tennis classes.

High light for November is the visit of the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China on November 11^th, 2025. An informal gathering took place at Kum Koon Garden Restaurant with almost 100 attendants. The enthusiastic welcoming to the Ambassador by our community leaders, business leaders, arts and cultural leaders and community members at large were well presented and received by the Ambassador.

Another significant event is the official announcement made by our three levels of Government on November 22^nd, 2025, announcing the official commencement of our next affordable housing development, a 54 units housing project on the vacant lot, previously housed the historical Shanghai Restaurant for over 7 decades. The building committee has been working in the background since April of 2024, responding to the Housing Acceleration Program effectively, with funding application process, design approval and building permits completed by end of August 2025. It is now even more exciting to see the construction had started, Chinatown will be noisier for the next while, then it will bring another 54 households to live within Chinatown. 1. November 2025 activities:

Booking of our Gymnasium continue to grow for basketball groups, table tennis groups, pickleball and planning for badminton is also starting.
Our lion and dragon dance group have received expanded interest especially the younger generation; regular practice continues from 12:00noon to 3:00pm every Sunday.

2. Upcoming Programming for all age groups :

Health / Senior Program:

The program is being scheduled 2025 and the end of winter 2026

Sports Program:

Lion Dance team, along with our dragon dance team, as our cultural recreational activities, 12:00noon to 3:00 pm, every Sunday
Line Dance for interest group, 10:00 am to 12:00 noon every Saturday
The cooking classes are also in progress.

Arts and Language:

Calligraphy, programming in progress
Chinese language class, programming in progress

2025年11月主席报告

随着十一月的结束，冬季即将来临，气温将逐渐转冷，寒意逼人。今年截至十一月底，可以说是我们许久未曾享受过的最宜人的一个秋季。接下来的日子可能会变得更冷、更有风、下雪或阴天，但也可能会迎来阳光明媚、宁静温暖的晴天。我们会尽力享受每一个美好的日子。

过去的十一月对所有活动志愿者和委员会负责人来说依然是非常忙碌的一个月，大家全情投入，积极参与了我们的烹饪课程、流感疫苗接种日、麻将班、匹克球、乒乓球、太极课以及舞龙舞狮课程。我们的长者项目由于提供多样化的课程，持续吸引大量参与者。令人振奋的是，我们在周六、周日，甚至平日的篮球场预约与乒乓球课程中都能看到显著增加的人流量。

十一月的亮点之一是中华人民共和国大使于 2025 年 11 月 11 日的来访。在金冠酒楼举行的一场非正式聚会上，近百人参加。社区领袖、商业领袖、文艺文化界代表以及广大社区成员对大使的热情欢迎，得到了充分展现，也受到大使的高度认可。

另一个重要事件是三层级政府于 2025 年 11 月 22 日宣布正式启动我们的下一项可负担性住房开发项目——一个54 个单位的住房建设计划，位于曾经七十多年历史的上海餐厅旧址。自 2024 年 4 月以来，建设委员会一直在幕后努力工作，并于 2025 年 8 月底前完成资金申请、设计审批和建筑许可流程。如今更令人兴奋的是，工程已经正式动工，未来一段时间唐人街将会更加繁忙，随之而来的是又有 54 个家庭将入住唐人街，继续为社区带来活力。

社区活动项目仍将持续进行，我们还计划推出更多适合各年龄层参与的新项目。
