JULY 2025 PRESIDENT’S REPORT

July turns out to be a busy month for all our volunteers and committee leaders in getting ready for upcoming events and new programs. WCCCC has continue in experiencing increase in demand in facility rental, remain primary for sports, plus rental from City of Winnipeg to utilize as their departmental recreational space, and demand for the gymnasium rental. We have kicked off our first Mahjong recreation event which is scheduled for every 3^rd Saturday each month.

During our July Board meeting, many ideas on programming for seniors, intergeneration with our Youth Group and community activities continue, interested individuals please check out our WCCCC official website for schedule and registration. 1. July 2025 activities

Our lion and dragon dance group has received great interest; regular practice continues from 12:00noon to 3:00pm every Sunday.
Kitchen update has been completed, ready for this year Folklorama and is ready for new programs.
Demand for booking of our Gymnasium has grown for basketball groups, table tennis groups and others.
Pickle Ball, badminton and volley nets are experiencing delay at Custom, we will continue to follow up and hoping they will arrive after Folklorama.
Preparation for this year Folklorama during August 3^rd to 9^th is getting our volunteers very busy and with excellent turn out during our volunteer orientation evening.
Stage has been set up and thank you for Helen, Yubo and their family in helping us setting up the stage on Sunday.
New Audio and lighting vendor has already been busy with our set up to facilitate our entire team to conduct our dry run starting at 10:00am, Saturday, August 2^nd.
We thank our summer students helping the team in getting organized and prepared.
A few of the Board of Directors had also jump in to organize this year Night Market event, scheduled for September 6^th and 7th. the decision to proceed was made in short notice and with a quick decision. This year event will be a modified version as we have decided to coexist with another event adjacent to our Centre organized by others. This will be our new experience as we are planning to host our portion of this event within the Chinese Garden area and interior of our Centre. A big test for us.
Along with WCCCC in partnership with Manitoba Great Wall, Women of Colour Community and Manitoba Chinese Family Centre, this year Newcomers Event will also take place on September 6^th, 2025, 1:00pm to 4:00pm at St. Vital Park, everyone is welcome.

2. Upcoming Programming for all age groups :

Health / Senior Program:

Program is being scheduled before fall 2025 and end of winter 2026

health seminars will take place during change of season, general health discussion, etc.

Sports Program:

Sporting events such as table tennis and follow up training programs occurring at 2:00pm to 5:00pm, every 3^rd Saturday
Lion Dance team along with our dragon dance team as our cultural recreational activities, 12:00noon to 3:00pm, every Sunday
Line Dance for interest group, 10:00am to 12:00noon every Saturday, October 4^th, 11^th, 18^th and 25^th
Cooking class will also commence, check out our website for availability. September 6^th
Interest for creating basketball training, badminton, volley, and pickle ball program underway

Arts and Language:

Chinese language and English class, programming in progress
Calligraphy, programming in progress

3. Upcoming events:

August 3^rd to 9^th	Chinese Pavilion at Folklorama
September 6^th and 7^th	Chinatown Night Market
October 28^th	Golden Dragon Gala at the Convention Centre.

2025年7月主席报告

七月对我们所有志愿者和委员会负责人来说是一个忙碌的月份，大家都在为即将到来的活动和新项目做准备。WCCCC 在场地租赁方面的需求持续增长，主要以体育活动为主，同时还有来自温尼伯市政府的租赁，用作其部门的娱乐空间，以及对体育馆租用的需求也在增加。我们已经启动了第一次麻将娱乐活动，计划每月的第三个星期六举行。

在七月的董事会上，大家继续就长者活动、青年团的代际交流，以及社区活动等方面提出了很多想法。有兴趣的朋友请访问 WCCCC 官方网站查看活动时间表并进行报名。我们还有许多面向各年龄层的项目正在安排中。

Pickleball、羽毛球和排球网在海关处延迟，我们将持续跟进，并希望它们能在 Folklorama 后抵达。
今年的 Folklorama 活动将在 8 月 3 日至 9 日举行，志愿者们正在忙碌筹备，我们的志愿者培训晚会也有很好的出席率。
舞台已搭建完毕，感谢 Helen、Yubo 及其家人于周日协助我们完成舞台搭建工作。
新的音响和灯光供应商也已开始紧锣密鼓地布置设备，为我们的团队进行 8 月 2 日（周六）上午10点开始的彩排做准备。
我们感谢暑期学生协助团队的组织与筹备工作。
几位董事会成员也参与了今年夜市活动的筹备，该活动定于 9 月 6 日和 7 日举行。这一决定是在短时间内迅速作出的。今年的夜市将以调整后的形式进行，因为我们决定与邻近由其他机构组织的活动同时举行。这将是我们的全新体验，我们计划在中华园区域及中心内部承办我们的部分活动。对我们来说是一次重要的尝试。
此外，WCCCC 将与 Manitoba Great Wall、Women of Colour Community 以及 Manitoba Chinese Family Centre 合作，于 2025 年 9 月 6 日下午1点至4点在 St. Vital 公园举办新移民家庭日活动，欢迎大家参与。
