The Tajik people mainly live in the Pamir Mountains of Xinjiang. They have lived on plateau pastures for centuries and preserve their history via folk tales and ballads.
Their culture is deeply tied to highland herding. Traditional clothes use thick wool fabrics. People wear distinctive colorful embroidered felt hats and long robes, suiting the cold alpine environment.
