Tibetan

Tibetans primarily live on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, one of the highest inhabited regions in the world. For centuries, they have developed a rich cultural heritage shaped by both farming and nomadic traditions. Their history, beliefs, and customs have been preserved through the Tibetan written language, scriptures, and generations of storytelling.

Tibetan culture is deeply rooted in the unique environment of the plateau and is expressed through traditional beliefs, horsemanship, folk songs, and vibrant festivals. Their distinctive long robes, designed to provide warmth in the high-altitude climate, are complemented by colorful aprons and beautifully crafted silver and jade ornaments. These traditional garments reflect the Tibetan people’s resilience, artistry, and enduring connection to the plateau.
