哈萨克族 Kazakh
The Kazakh people are one of China’s ethnic groups, living mainly in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China. For centuries, they have maintained a nomadic way of life, herding livestock across vast grasslands and preserving their history and traditions through epic oral poetry passed down from generation to generation.
Kazakh culture is renowned for its rich equestrian traditions, eagle hunting, and the use of traditional yurts. Their distinctive folk costumes are well suited to life on the steppe, featuring soft fur hats, beautifully embroidered robes, and sturdy leather boots adorned with intricate patterns. These traditional garments reflect the Kazakh people’s close connection with nature, their nomadic heritage, and their enduring cultural identity.
