OCTOBER 2025 PRESIDENT’S REPORT
With October behind us, fall season with fall colours in front of us, looks all the leaves are almost all down, getting ready for our winter months. Although it can be brutally cold some days, but not every day. That’s what make it different for us that chosen to live in Winnipeg. Days can be cold, windy, snowy cloudy day, but it can also be a very nice, beautiful calm sunny day, with the warm sun. Let’s make the best of it.
This last October continues to remain as an extremely busy month for all our event volunteers and committee leaders, fully engaged and occupied for our Senior Programs and our bi-annual Golden Dragon Gala fund raising event. Our seniors Program with a variety of classes planned is seeing the substantial pickup on attendants. It is exiting to observe and to absorb the increased foot traffics over Saturday and Sunday. Thank you for those that are participating.
High light for October is our bi-annual fund-raising Golden Dragon Gala (GDG). Same as previous years, this year Gala also took place at the RBC Convention Centre. This year event was sold out, over 680 attendants. We do note it as our new record. A great thank you to the GDG Committee, Taren Wan as Chief Coordinator, our MC – Tina Chen, our Office team (Mia, Helen, Gaga and Yubo), our audio/lighting crew Yes Oui Production, and many of our other vendors that have provided their services and support. Most importantly, we also thank the team from RBC Convention Centre, for their planning, organization, staff support and service team. The evening was perfectly executed.
Part of this coming month November, we are excited to report a first trial weekly Tai Chi class will be starting at 9:00am to noon, Sunday, November 9th. Interest level is phenomenal; registration has surpassed our expectation. Similar situation is occurring to our Mahjong classes with request to have more regular scheduled classes and work is in progress.
Next exciting event is scheduled for Sunday, December 7th – our first Holiday Family Day. Check out our event poster on our official website.
Continue programming for community activities continues. There are other new programs being scheduled for all age group to participate.
