SEPTEMBER 2025 PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Coming to the end of September, summer is officially over with fall weather is in front of us with fall colours in front of us.

This last September continues to remain as an extremely busy month for all our volunteers and committee leaders, fully engaged and occupied for our annual Night Market event, Senior Programs and Volunteer appreciation gathering. This year our two-day Night Market event had become another change to our Centre, record-breaking success with several significant changes including opening the interior of our facility for vendors and visitors for both days.

Changes occurred on almost every aspect of the event, from our newly inclusion of Audio/Lighting, visitor greeting, cultural display, souvenir, calligraphy, and newly recruited young volunteer for clean up crew.

We also have collaborated with another strong organization for their Lantern Festival at street level. It is a very exciting moment to see how two different groups can co-exist with two events on both days.

A sincere appreciation to our lighting/Audio vendor and our volunteer team of less than 15 for clean up, set up to take down. The extended support from our WCCCC office team, regular staff and our summer student, fantastic job, and commitment. Most importantly, the impressive level of volunteer commitment. Thank you.

Along with WCCCC in partnership with Manitoba Great Wall, Women of Colour Community and Manitoba Chinese Family Centre, this year Newcomers Event also took place on September 6^th, 2025, with great success.

Continue programming for seniors, intergeneration with our Youth Group and community activities continues. There are other new programs being scheduled for all age group to participate. Website: Winnipeg Chinese Cultural and Community Centre – https://wcccc.ca

1. September 2025 activities

Booking of our Gymnasium continue to grow for basketball groups, table tennis groups, and others.
Pickle Ball, badminton and volley nets are experiencing delay at Custom, expecting arrive in late September.
Our lion and dragon dance group has added additional coaches, continue to receive expanded interest; regular practice continues from 12:00noon to 3:00pm every Sunday.
New regular scheduled drumming class and Tai Chi classes are being planned with qualify coaches.
Following the Night Market event, another bi-annual fund-raising Golden Dragon Gala event is also under planning stage in high gear. Current progress is promising likely another record-breaking event. This year event will take place on Tuesday, October 28^th, 2025, at the south side of the RBC Convention Centre. Any company, organization or individuals that are interested in supporting this event, please contact our WCCCC office or website.

2. Upcoming Programming for all age groups :

Health / Senior Program:

The program is being scheduled before fall 2025 and the end of winter 2026

Health seminars will take place during the change of season, general health discussions, etc.

Sports Program:

Sporting events such as table tennis and follow-up training programs occur from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, every 3^rd Saturday
Lion Dance team, along with our dragon dance team, as our cultural recreational activities, 12:00noon to 3:00 pm, every Sunday
Line Dance for interest group, 10:00am to 12:00noon every Saturday, October 4^th, 11^th, 18^th and 25^th
Cooking class will also commence; check out our website for availability. September 6^th
Interest in creating basketball training, badminton, volleyball, and pickleball programs is underway

Arts and Language:

Chinese language and English class, programming in progress
Calligraphy, programming in progress

October 5^th	Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration
October 28^th	Golden Dragon Gala at the Convention Centre

2025年9月主席报告

九月即将结束，夏天正式过去，秋天的气息和绚丽的秋色已经来到我们眼前。

刚刚过去的九月依然是我们所有志愿者和各委员会负责人最忙碌的一个月，他们全身心投入到一年一度的夜市活动、长者项目以及志愿者答谢聚会。今年我们为期两天的夜市活动，再次成为中心的一个转折点，取得了破纪录的成功，并带来了几项重要的变化，其中包括首次开放中心内部场地，让商户和游客在两天活动中都能入内参与。

此次活动几乎在各个方面都有所改变：新增了音响/灯光设备、访客接待、文化展示、纪念品、书法展示，还招募了新的年轻志愿者加入清理小组。

我们还与另一家实力雄厚的机构合作，在街道层面举办他们的灯笼节。能够看到两个不同的团体在同一天成功举办两项活动，这是一个令人兴奋的时刻。

我们真诚感谢灯光/音响供应商，以及不到15人的志愿者团队，他们负责清理、搭建和拆除。同时感谢WCCCC办公室团队、常驻员工和暑期学生的鼎力支持，他们展现了极高的专业精神与投入。最重要的是，我们所有志愿者令人敬佩的奉献精神，谢谢大家。

此外，WCCCC与曼尼托巴长城协会、曼尼托巴少数族裔女性领导力促进会和曼尼托巴枫华之家合作，于2025年9月6日成功举办了新移民活动，取得了圆满成功。

长者项目、青年团与长者的代际互动以及社区活动也在持续进行中。同时，还有一些新的项目正在筹备，供各个年龄层的居民参与。

1. 这个9月我们开展了以下活动:

我们体育馆的预订量持续增长，篮球团体、乒乓球团体以及其他群体的使用需求不断增加。
匹克球、羽毛球和排球的球网目前在海关延迟，预计将在九月底抵达。
我们的舞狮舞龙队增添了新的教练，并持续受到更多人的关注和参与；常规训练每周日上午12点至下午3点照常进行。
新的常规课程，如鼓乐班和太极班，也正在由合格教练筹备安排中。
