Hezhe

Ethnic Group of China

Hezhe

The Hezhe are a small fishing ethnic group living along rivers in Heilongjiang Province. They have lived by fishing and hunting for generations and kept their history through folk ballads.
Hezhe culture is closely linked to river life. Their traditional costumes were originally made of fish skin and animal hides, decorated with simple carvings and embroidery, fully reflecting their riverside fishing lifestyle.
