The Yi people are an ancient farming ethnic group scattered across Yunnan, Sichuan and Guizhou. They preserve their unique history and culture with ancient Yi writing and epic folk songs.
Yi culture is well-known for the Torch Festival, embroidery and wax printing. Their traditional clothes feature bold dark fabrics paired with bright colourful patterns, plus distinctive head coverings and silver decorations that suit mountain living.
