加拿大日是加拿大的联邦公众假日，定为每年的7月1日，是庆祝1867年7月1日加拿大自治领《英属北美条约》（今称为1867年《宪法法案》）将英国在北美的三块领地合并为一个联邦，包括加拿大省Canada（今安大略Ontario和魁北克Quebec省南部），新斯科舍省Nova Scotia和新不伦瑞克省New Brunswick。

Canada Day is the national day of Canada, a federal statutory holiday which celebrates the anniversary of July 1, 1867, the effective date of the Constitution Act, 1867 (then called the British North America Act,1867), which united the three separate colonies of the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick into a single Dominion within the British Empire called Canada.

1868年6月20日，总督蒙克勋爵Lord Monck签署宣言，呼吁加拿大人在当年7月1日庆祝加拿大联邦成立一周年。
June 20, 1868, Governor General Lord Monck signs a proclamation that requests all Her Majesty’s subjects across Canada to celebrate July 1.

1879年，联邦法律将7月1日正式定为法定节日，取名为“ 自治领日”（Dominion Day），纪念代表政治联盟的加拿大自治领。但由于英裔加拿大人到20世纪初期仍普遍视自己为英国人，他们当时并未大肆庆祝“自治领日”。

1982年10月27日，通过《加拿大法案》，7月1日“自治领日”正式更名为“加拿大日”（Canada Day）。
October 27, 1982: July 1, “Dominion Day” officially becomes Canada Day.

根据联邦休假法，加拿大国庆日7月1日当天，全国带薪休假一天，一同举行热闹非凡的欢庆活动（若恰逢周末，则顺延至下周一为休假日）。
Under the federal Holidays Act, Canada Day is observed on July 1, unless that date falls on a Sunday, in which case July 2 is the statutory holiday. Celebratory events will generally still take place on July 1.

每年7月1日，加拿大政府都会在首都渥太华举行官方庆祝活动，包括空军飞行团的表演、烟火和大型户外音乐会。
Every July 1st, the Government hosts official celebrations in the national capital, Ottawa, Ontario, such as air shows, fireworks, outdoor free musical concerts on Canada Day.

对于民众来说，加拿大日没有全国通用的标准庆祝模式，全国各地、各社区都可以有自己独特的庆祝活动，包括游行、嘉年华、户外音乐会、文艺表演、烧烤party、免费逛国家公园等等。
To the public, there is no standard mode of celebration for Canada Day. Most communities across the country will host organized celebrations for Canada Day, typically outdoor public events, such as parades, carnivals, festivals, barbecues, and musical concerts.

富有创意的加拿大人民会在游行时穿戴各种奇特设计的代表加拿大的枫叶系列服装和饰品，表达自己的爱国之情。
The creative Canadian people wear a variety of uniquely designed maple leaf clothing and accessories during the parade to express their patriotism.

The various celebrations throughout Canada Day may be the most direct way to experience and feel the warmth, friendliness, and happiness of Canada and Canadians.

每年加拿大日，温城中华文化中心都会在中国城花园和中心礼堂举办精彩的欢庆活动。
Every year on Canada Day, Winnipeg Chinese Cultural & Community Centre holds wonderful celebrations in Chinatown Garden and in the gym.
