Volunteers From Red River College Needed!!

This year, the WCCCC is working with RRC to host an international summer camp for students from China working in engineering. The goal of this workshop is to help students adapt to Canadian culture and living in Canada to help them transition smoothly into studies at RRC.

Right now, we are searching for volunteers to talk about their experiences and work with students who have a lower level of English to simply encourage them and guide them through activities.

Though anyone is welcome to help, we are more specifically searching for students or graduates from RRC who also have some knowledge of Mandarin or Cantonese. We hope to have some students who have taken this workshop in the past to talk about their experiences and life in Winnipeg.

The workshop will be held on Friday, July 26th on the 2nd floor or the Dynasty Building on 180 King Street in Chinatown; the Winnipeg Chinese Cultural and Community Centre. Please check below for more information and how to apply!

Requirements: None specifically. Anyone is welcome to sign-up to try to help as long as they are free on Friday, July 26th!

Preferred experience/skills:
– Can speak Mandarin or Cantonese, as well as English at a fair level
– Is currently a student or graduate from Red River College
– Has taken the program in a previous year/is studying here because of RRC’s partnership with a post-secondary program in China

To sign-up, please fill out this form.
